A vertical "mother" hole is drilled to a depth of around 500-600 meter. In the next step a fan of "daughter" holes are drilled from the "mother" hole using directional drilling technology. Cores are then taken from each "daughter" hole. The contractor, Priority Drilling, was looking for faster ways of drilling straight "mother" holes in the water rich formation. Air hammers could not do the job. Wassara was the solution.
Result:
The Wassara Drilling system drilled 5-6 times faster compared to the conventional coring system which was previously used.
