Pre-drilling for jet-grouting with W100 in Gothenburg, Sweden

Project Description:

German contractors Zublin Spezial Tiefbau decided to use Wassara W100 Drilling System for construction work in Gothenburg, Sweden. Due to water in the formation, pneumatic drilling was considered too risky.  Water in the formation does of course not effect the Wassara hammer at all. Another argument for using Wassara is the fact that the same pump which is used for the grouting is used for drilling with Wassara. Thus, there is no need for an expensive air-compressor on site.

Result:

The Wassara Drilling System fulfilled all requirements and proved to be a cost-effective alternative to traditional methods.

Equipment:

Hammer

Wassara W100  (stabilized)

Wassara 120 mm

Pump

Metax MP7

Drilling fluid

Clean water

Drill pipe

Æ89mm, length 3000 mm

Rig

Klemm KA3012
