Project Description:
Reinforcement work during the construction of the Southern Link highway system in Stockholm. The contractor, Hercules Trevi, first drilled a number of holes with the Wassara W100 and then switched to the jet-grouting equipment for the grouting phase. There were two reasons for choosing Wassara:
- The large amounts of water in the formation made the use of pneumatic hammers difficult.
- Since it was possible to use the jet-grouting pump to run the Wassara hammer it was not necessary to have an air-compressor on site.
Result:
No problems were experienced when switching from drilling with W100 to grouting.
