Project Description:
El Soldado is a highly technological mine in Chile aiming for long and accurate drilling in a dust free working environment. The mine is using the Wassara Drilling System to drill blast holes in a 360 degrees drilling pattern. The intention of the mine has been to increase productivity and improve the environment underground. Therefore Wassara was contacted via Sandvik Bafco in Chile. The Wassara equipment is today being used in the underground mine of El Soldado mounted on an Atlas Copco Simba M6C-ITH.
Result:
With the Wassara water powered percussion hammer the environment has improved in the mine. The feed back from the mine has been positive and the drillers state that they do not wish to breathe dust any more. Productivity has also improved accordingly.
