A bored pile retaining wall has been set up and enables an important and busy roadway located right next to the construction pit to remain in use during the ongoing project.
Background
The wall enables an important and busy roadway located right next to the construction pit to remain in use during the ongoing project without any risk of a landslide.
The water the contractor (Lemminkäinen) used to run the hammer came from a fire hydrant, thus, public water was used. A buffer tank was filled up with water before the water went into the high-pressure pump.
Water treatment
Since the application is casing advancing in overburden there is not much return flow. Most of the water is absorbed by the overburden which consists of construction aggregate, clay, moraine. The small amount of water which returns to the surface is simply led away from the rig to a patch of ground where it is absorbed.
